C6 - Adipokine als Modulatoren der kardiovaskulären Funktion

Die Bedeutung von Adipokinen für metabolische und kardiovaskuläre Fehlfunktionen und deren genauer Wirkmechanismus ist nur unvollständig geklärt. Ziel des Projektes ist es deshalb, die Rolle von Chemerin und Neuregulin 4 im Hinblick auf eine kardiometabolische Fehlfunktion und Stoffwechselparametern im LDLR^-/-;aP2-nSREBP1c-Tg Mausmodell für Lipodystrophie und Arteriosklerose zu untersuchen. Das Projekt bündelt dafür die lokale Expertise in der Adipokin und kardiovaskulären Medizin um molekulare Mechanismen der Adipokinwirkung am kardiovaskulären System zu identifizieren.

Thema des Promotionsprojekts:	Sascha studiert seit 2015 Medizin an der Universität Leipzig. Neben dem Studium sammelte er praktische Erfahrungen in der Anästhesie und Intensivmedizin, wobei ihn die kardiovaskuläre Physiologie besonders faszinierte. Die präklinischen Studien weckten sein Interesse an der Grundlagenforschung, sodass er in das kardiologische Forschungslabor von Prof. Ulrich Laufs und PD Dr. Jes-Niels Boeckel wechselte. Seine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Trimethylamin-N-Oxide (ein Metabolit, der von der Darmmikrobiota unter anderem als Reaktion auf Fleischkonsum gebildet wird) welche mit einer schlechten kardiometabolischen Gesundheit in Verbindung stehen.
